Johnny Johnson, DDS

I am proud to serve the Austin community at Harmony Dental Wellness, where I have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families while providing exceptional, personalized dental care. One of the things I enjoy most about dentistry is getting to know my patients, understanding their individual needs, and helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles.

I believe that excellent dental care begins with education, communication, and trust. I take the time to help patients understand their oral health, the important connection between oral health and overall wellness, and the treatment options available to them. My goal is to empower patients to make informed decisions about their dental care while developing healthy habits that support their long-term well-being.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a dentist is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life. Whether relieving dental pain, restoring function, replacing missing teeth, or helping someone regain confidence in their smile, I find tremendous personal and professional satisfaction in providing care that improves my patients' quality of life.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Bachelor of Arts in Biology – Western Washington University

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) – University of Washington School of Dentistry

Since graduating from dental school in 2010, I have remained committed to advancing my clinical knowledge and expanding the range of services I can provide to my patients.

I have pursued extensive advanced continuing education and hands-on training in a variety of dental disciplines, including:

  • Advanced Occlusion and Comprehensive Restorative Dentistry – Understanding the complex relationship between the teeth, bite, and jaw to provide comfortable, functional, and long-lasting restorations.

  • Invisalign® Clear Aligner Therapy – Helping patients achieve healthier, straighter smiles through modern orthodontic treatment.

  • Dental Implant Surgery and Restoration – Surgically placing and restoring dental implants to replace missing teeth and restore natural function and appearance.

  • Advanced Endodontic Treatment – Performing complex root canal procedures, including molar endodontics, to relieve pain and preserve natural teeth.

  • Oral Surgery – Providing surgical extractions and other procedures with an emphasis on patient comfort and predictable outcomes.

  • Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry – Combining aesthetics, function, and modern materials to create natural-looking, beautiful smiles.

  • Sedation Dentistry – Helping patients feel more comfortable and relaxed throughout their dental treatment.

I take great pride in offering comprehensive dental care and believe that continually refining my skills allows me to provide my patients with more treatment options, often without the need for outside referrals. My philosophy is to combine modern dental technology, evidence-based techniques, and individualized treatment planning to deliver exceptional care.

Military Service

Serving our nation's military has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career.

Following graduation from dental school, I moved to Central Texas and spent four years on active duty as a dentist in the United States Army at Fort Hood. During my military career, I have had the privilege of caring for service members and their families, both at home and abroad.

My military service has continued alongside my civilian dental career, including assignments supporting Army Special Operations Forces, military medical training operations, and emergency preparedness and response.

I currently serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, where I hold a leadership position as Deputy Commander of an Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer (EPLO) Augmentation Group. In this role, I help support military coordination and response efforts during domestic emergencies and national disasters.

Among my proudest military accomplishments are earning the Expert Field Medical Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Airborne Badge, as well as receiving the Meritorious Service Medal.

My military experience has reinforced the importance of leadership, discipline, teamwork, and service to others—values that continue to guide my approach to patient care.

Outside the Office

I grew up in a small town outside Seattle, Washington, before attending Western Washington University and the University of Washington School of Dentistry. After moving to Central Texas for my military service, I quickly developed an appreciation for the people, communities, and lifestyle that make this part of Texas so special. What began as a military assignment ultimately became the place I chose to call home.

My wife, Eirian, and I are proud parents to our two wonderful children, Rian, age 7, and Ezra Jack, age 4. They keep us busy, entertained, and constantly on our toes! Our family also includes our two dogs, Tilly and Riley.

When I'm not practicing dentistry or fulfilling my military responsibilities, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. Whether we're out on the lake, exploring the outdoors, hiking, traveling, or simply relaxing together at home, family time is always my favorite way to recharge.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have a career that allows me to combine my passion for healthcare, my commitment to service, and my love of building relationships with people.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Harmony Dental Wellness and helping you achieve a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles.
